One Saturday morning I was relaxing and watching my favorite Food Network television shows when I saw Trisha Yearwood making these delicious-looking pecans for her new show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen. Holy cow, they looked amazing! I immediately knew I was going to whip some up as soon as possible. I mean, what could be bad about pecans covered in butter, sugar and cinnamon? Not much!
Pecans are such a Southern staple and I love that with this recipe you taste the sweetness from the sugar but it’s not too sweet; you still get that great pecan flavor. These would make a perfect hostess gift, bring them to any party or pot-luck or put them in pretty packaging (like the mason jar below) and give them away as presents. These will make perfect treats for friends and family this holiday season.

Here’s what you’ll need:
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
3 large egg whites
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 cups pecan halves
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Cover your baking sheet with aluminum foil (this will make your life much easier when cleaning up) and pour the melted butter onto the lined sheet.
Mix together the egg whites, sugar and cinnamon. Once they’re combined, add the pecans and make sure all of them are coated.
Spread all the pecans evenly on the baking sheet making sure none of them are overlapping. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring the pecans every 10 minutes.
Cool on the baking sheet for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
